I get this one all the time. My girlfriend and I will go into a store with a lonely clerk that enters into a conversation with my girlfriend, or maybe we will go to some tourist stop, and there will be another couple there. The usual bingo comes up, “So how many kids do you have?”. The usual answer is “No we don’t have children”. The new acquaintance will say, “Well you two are young, you have plenty of time!”. My girlfriends will say, “I am 38, and he is 42”. The person will drop her mouth to the floor. The last time this happened the lady said, “I am 35, and my sister is 32. You two look younger than both of us.”.
Shortly after I moved into my house, two guys showed up with some beers. They started chatting with me in my “man cave” (Garage). They asked the same question. I shocked them as I am 10 years older than both of them.
